Final Winter Storm Call

May everyone enjoy this snowstorm and may everyone stay safe and enjoy it! :) Below is a look at the latest advisories and warnings. Also is my final call for snowfall. If we do see Thundersnow across southern Tennessee, which is a possibility, then someone may very well see a foot of snow.

Afternoon Notes

Good afternoon folks! Just a few notes to pass along this afternoon. I am currently working on revising the snowfall accumulation totals. That should be out within the hour. Also a reminder to check the Winter Center where I will be posting all updated graphics for this winter storm. A final call for this system will be published no later than 2pm tomorrow afternoon. Will update this afternoon and then later tonight or early more if needed and then one final call map tomorrow afternoon. All of southern Tennessee is under a winter storm watch for this system now. I do not expect any warnings to be issue until at least after 9pm tonight, though more likely to come tomorrow morning. But if we do get them this afternoon I will pass them along.

Winter Storm Update

Good Friday evening to everyone. Well we are slowly closing in on the much anticipated winter system late this weekend into early next week. After reviewing the latest models and putting a little instinct into the forecast I am ready to look at some snowfall accumulation totals for Sunday night through Tuesday Evening. We will likely see two periods of accumulating snowfall. The first arriving from the south late Sunday night into Monday midday from a surface low pressure to the south along the Gulf coast. The second will come from an upper level low swinging near the mid-state on Tuesday. Below is a look at my first call for this storm. Look for an update tomorrow.

Winter Storm Still On

Continuing to review the latest weather models and forecasts from the national weather service. Will publish my official forecast including snowfall totals this evening. This system will cause much havoc across the area and folks should stay advised of the situation.

Light Snow and Rain Today

A clipper system will bring some wintry weather to Middle Tennessee throughout the day. Some locations could pick up some minor accumulations. Here in Southern Tennessee, expect very little if any accumulation and the roadways will remain in fine condition. Below is my latest thinking for today:

Back In The Groove

Happy January 2011 to all of my readers! Well after some rest for the holidays everyone is getting back to the usual madness of work, school, daily lifes, etc. Today was a brutal cold 35 degree rain for most area's across Southern Tennessee. Tomorrow will be slightly warmer with sunny skies. Highs will be around the 45 degree area. A clipper system to our northeast could wash a few flurries down into our area for Thursday night into Friday but no accumulation expected. More wintry tricks head our way late this weekend with a low passing to our south. That system could bring an accumulating snowfall to Southern Tennessee so this system bears close watching over the next 48 hours.
