Strong Storms Tonight

The entire United States is getting ready to enter a rather active period of weather during this week. The weather changes for Southern Tennessee begin tonight. If you have been outside this morning you will notice rather breezy conditions ahead of tonights storm system. Showers and thunderstorms can be expected across the area later this evening into the overnight hours of Monday morning. The Storm Prediction Center has enclosed our southwestern counties of Wayne, Perry, Lewis, Lawrence, and Giles in the slight chance for severe weather. The biggest concern is going to be a chance for some damaging winds. Although large hail and a brief tornado cannot be ruled out. Another round of strong to severe thunderstorms is possible on Tuesday. Heavy rainfall will also be a concern. 1-2 inches of rainfall could fall during the next 48 hours with 3+ inches possible by weeks end. No major concerns of flooding are expected but some brief flash flooding could be possible. Next weekend looks beautiful though with seasonal temperatures and dry conditions. Have a great day!
